As Media Affiliates, we had no problem entering the premises of the convention. For the regular attendees who arrived for Day 1 of the event, however, the lines were extremely long – to the point it was reaching outside of SMX Convention Center proper. Long waiting times of over 2 hours and lack of air-conditioning (or proper ventilation for that matter) stoked anxieties among con-goers in the lines at the designated holding place Hall 4; some opting not to enter the event instead, seeing the situation at hand.
It was a Minor-Major setback.
Nonetheless, the activities and booths were amazing. Everybody had fun.
Day 2 saw an improvement with regards to the attendee lines and general crowd control. As early as 9 AM, designated staff were letting attendees enter the SMX Convention Center. The divider separating Halls 3 and 4 was removed for the better accommodation and handling for the con-goer crowd. On-site Ticket Selling was postponed in order to alleviate the mass of waiting people in the event space proper. Also, guards and Ground Managers did their jobs maintaining the order and discipline of the con attendees.
Thus, said lines went through smoothly than before. Additionally, the rest of the day saw no notable problems with regards to the said issue, and in other aspects of the event.
We congratulate the contestants and winners of the various contests during Cosplay Carnival 2022 - Day 1 and 2. We hope everyone who attended Cosplay Carnival had an exciting time!
