Usapang Cosplay Carnival 2025

An anime cosplay convention (or “con” for short) is a multi-day event, usually held in large convention centers or hotels, where fans dress up as their favorite characters and immerse themselves in anime culture. “Cosplay” stands for “costume play,” and it's a huge part of the experience — but you don’t have to be in costume to attend!

In the Philippines, Cosplay.PH hosts multiple anime cosplay conventions all year round. This 2025 they are themed as the seasons of cosplay per event saga. First on the list was Cosplay Carnival 2025: Spring Serenade held last March 22 - 23, 2025 at the SMX Convention Center Pasay.

What we found there:

  • Creative Costumes Everywhere: You'll see fans in costumes representing beloved characters from anime, video games, and more. Some are handcrafted, while others are store-bought, but all show off passion and creativity.

  • Merch Booths: A shopping area filled with anime merchandise — everything from figures and shirts to plushies and rare finds.

  • Artist Alley: A section where artists sell original prints, stickers, charms, and other fan-made items. Some take custom art commissions right at their table. Wonderful designs from our local artists.

  • Cosplay Competitions: Contests where cosplayers show off their creations and perform skits for a chance to win awards and recognition.

  • Cosplay Photobooth: Fans gather by fandom to pose for group photos. It's a great way to connect with other fans of the same series. Amazing studio like booths by the DISTRICT 1 Cosplay Studio.

  • Cosplay Guests: Special appearances from international cosplayers and a meet and greet session with them as well!

Our first special cosplayer guest this year, originally from Hong Kong and now based in Malaysia, will captivate the audience with her enchanting presence! Known for her exceptional skills and creativity, she brings beloved characters from anime and games to life, including Asuna from Sword Art Online and Tifa from Final Fantasy VII. International cosplay sensation Baobao is all set to steal hearts with an exclusive interaction for her fans!

Amazing performances onstage by the beloved idol groups and the most awaited JAM (Japanese Anime Music) Concert! Feel your heart race at this highly anticipated concert, featuring an unforgettable blend of stunning performances from our star guests! Experience the charm of Japanese singer and cosplayer Akase Akari, widely recognized for her debut single “Koi no Yukue”, the ending theme of My Dress-Up Darling. Joining her is the incredibly talented Shuka Saito, beloved for her role as You Watanabe in Love Live! Sunshine!! and known for her powerful solo hits like Kutsuhimo and “36°c/papapa,” the ending theme from Oresuki. Don’t miss this radiant harmony of music, fandom, and unforgettable moments!

Followed by an exciting lineup of stage events where cosplayers light up the spotlight with dazzling talent and creativity! Sing your heart out during Cosplay Karaoke, or show off your teamwork and style in the dynamic Cosplay Group Battle. Sharpen your eyes for The Big Picture as you try to uncover the secret image hidden in plain sight! Team up with your bestie for double the laughs in Cosplay OTP and Just Duet, and cheer on competitors as they test their knowledge and nerve in the ultimate showdown — Frenemy Feud!

In honor of 25 years of cosplay in the country, attendees can now purchase a Shopper's Pass for just 99 pesos, giving them access to the exhibition halls starting at 6PM until closing time!

We at Usapang Cosplay can’t wait for the next event of the year! See You at FanFes 2025!
